It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete the electronic fingerprinting. The fingerprinting location will charge a fee for the process. Once the fingerprinting is completed, future renewals will not require a repeat of the process.

The standard for employment-related background checks in Texas is seven years, except for criminal convictions, which may be reported indefinitely.
