A month and a half into shooting, the film is nearly a week ahead of schedule, though you wouldn't know it at the moment. The lighting is being adjusted for a new camera setup, and filming has come to a standstill. Lumet, not a patient man, plops down in his director's chair bristling with energy. Short, balding, and dressed in a blue work shirt, blue jeans, and blue sneakers, he pushes his aviator glasses up on his nose and looks around, signaling his willingness to talk.
