M&S has just unveiled the menu for this year’s edition of its mega popular Valentine’s ‘Dine In for Two’ meal deal.
And it’s sounding tastier than ever.
Last year, more than a million Brits headed on down to their nearest M&S to make the most of the retailer‘s now-legendary Valentine’s dining deal and celebrate the international day of love in a more low-key way from the comfort of their own home.
But this year, says it wants to top that success, and is hoping that its “most luxurious” menu yet will do just the trick.
For the first time ever, the retailer has added lobster to the main courses lineup on this year’s ‘Dine In’ menu after it proved so popular with shoppers and flew off the shelves over the Christmas season, with some of the other options sitting alongside that including steak, lamb shanks, and beef wellington, as well as mushroom stroganoff pies for plant-based foodies.

Just some of the starters and sides on the menu this year include king prawns, breaded camembert, tempura veg fritters, a leek and cheddar souffle tart, truffle mash, smashed potatoes, a cheesy green veg bake, and so much more.
To satisfy those sweet tooths at the end of an indulgent meal, triple chocolate brownies, a melt-in-the-middle chocolate pudding, tiramisu mousse cake, salted caramel profiteroles, white chocolate and raspberry mousse hearts, and even a mini cheese board are among the delights you can choose from.

Then, to wash it all down with, you can pick from a wide range of different wines and proseccos, or even a four-pack of M&S’s social media sensation Passionstar Martini co*cktail tinnies instead.
Lobster isn’t the only newbie this year either, as 2024 also marks the first time the Valentine’s ‘Dine In for Two’ deal has a fully gluten free menu, as well as a brand-new vegan menu too, so no lovers need be left out.
“This year’s menu is sure to set hearts racing,” an M&S spokesperson said.

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, the limited-edition ‘Dine In for Two’ deal will be available to pick up at M&S stores from Friday 9 – Wednesday 14 February, and will set you back an affordable £25 – which works out at just £12.50 per person.

BBC to air ‘important and timely’ new Sarah Everard documentary three years on from her deathEmily Sergeant
An “important and timely” new documentary about Sarah Everard is to air on the BBC three years following her death.
The tragic murder of the 33-year-old by serving Metropolitan Police officer, Wayne Couzens – who abducted her as she walked home on the evening of 3 March 2021 to the Brixton Hill area from a friend’s house near Clapham Common in London – was, undoubtedly, a watershed moment for the nation.
Her death brought to the forefront the devastating issues within the UK’s police forces, and highlighted the extent of violence against women and girls in our society.
And now, coming up to three years on from the historic event, and with the issue of violence against women and girls having been recently declared a national priority, alongside terrorism and organised crime, the BBC has announced that it will air a new documentary on the case, showcasing how the devastating crime unfolded, and the impact it’s gone on the have.

The hour-long factual programme – which is titled Sarah Everard: The Search For Justice, and will air on both BBC One and iPlayer – will primarily look at the Met Police’s investigation into Sarah’s murder.
The story will be told by those closely-involved in the case from the outset, many of whom will be speaking on camera for the first time, including the Senior Investigating Officer, the Prosecuting Barrister, and Sarah’s local MP.
A lot has happened since Sarah Everard’s murder.
In the aftermath of the event, the Met was placed into special measures, and a major review of the force found a culture of denial, widespread bullying, discrimination, institutional hom*ophobia, misogyny, and racism – with several other UK police forces also having been forced to confront the culture and behaviour in their own ranks too.
An Independent Inquiry launched by the Home Office is underway too to examine the “unimaginable failures in policing”, and to find out how a tragedy like Sarah’s murder could even happen in the first place.
Hundreds of police officers also continue to face sexual assault allegations in the three years following Sarah’s death, which only proves just how “important and timely” this BBC documentary will be.
The documentary’s production team has been in close contact with Sarah’s parents for the making of this film, and say they hope it will bring “increased focus” to issues of women’s safety, as well as abuse of power by police and others in positions of authority.
Speaking ahead of the documentary airing, Emma Loach, who is the Lead Commissioning Editor for Documentaries at the BBC, commented: “The murder of Sarah Everard sent shock waves across the country and ignited an urgent conversation about police failings and violence against women and girls.
“This is an important and timely film, and we, like Sarah’s family, hope it will contribute to the ongoing dialogue around the issues raised.”

Sarah Everard: The Search For Justice will air on BBC One and iPlayer this year, with the official release dates set to be announced in due course.

A budget airline has launched a ‘mystery’ holiday experience where you only get to find out the location when you step off the plane.

As part of its new #LetsGetLostwithWIZZ campaign, you can sign up to hop on a flight to an unknown destination where you’ll only get to find out the location when you land.
Happening in just a matter of days, the flight will depart from London Gatwick Airport to the unknown destination on 7 March, and according to the airline, the 35 lucky people selected for the four-day holiday can expect a “jam-packed itinerary of fun” – including cultural, culinary, and adventure activities.
If you’re wondering whether you’ll need to pack your kaftans and swimwear, or your snow gear and hiking boots, then you’re right to question, but there’s no need to worry as this will all be answered before departure.
Winners will be told the climate of the mystery destination a few days ahead of the trip, but other than that, no other clues will be revealed until touching down.
Wizz Air flies to more than 70 destinations from the UK, and last year, some of the airline’s most-travelled-to destinations for Brits included Morocco, Cyprus, Greece, Turkey and Spain, with many other off-the-beaten-track locations also proving pretty popular, so there really is no telling where this daring lot will end up.
